Is this really friendship??

Last night, I was reading an article on the internet and came across this story. So the beast decided to bring it to, with his scissors on it. The subtle story deals with the friendship of Alpha, Beta, Gamma and Delta and factors that brought it to an end.

 

Alpha and Beta were childhood, family friends and they met Gamma and Delta in their college. Since college times, the four of them were very good friends. They use to share things, roam together, study together (for CAT), play together and do almost everything together. While Alpha was an introvert (perhaps that’s the reason why he was under-estimated by his teachers), Beta and Delta had crushes on their batch mates (but they didn’t have the balls to say it to them, also Delta was a teacher’s pet) and Gamma was neutral (neither was he an introvert nor did he had crushes). The latter three had the habit of humiliating Alpha as and when they can but Alpha never minded this because this was the only thing that could bring laughter to their (Beta, Gamma and delta) extremely boring life. Everything was going fine until the CAT result came out. Out of the four, only alpha managed to crack the examination and was admitted into an IIM (though I didn’t remember which one it was, definitely not A or B). Gamma and Delta took admission in the other renowned B-schools while beta was pursuing management from some unknown arbitrary B-school.

 

However, at this stage also, their friendship was not affected so badly. They still use to call each other, meet whenever possible but everytime Alpha was their target. He never showed his supremacy and was always down to earth. Things got more worsened when Alpha found a suitable girl. According to beta, alpha didn’t deserve anything, be it IIM, and be it his girl, victory in game of tennis or any computer game. But the fact was that he was jealous of Alpha because everytime they competed (CAT, any game, exams in college or tennis, alpha played it for the first time), Beta suffered defeat. Beta and Delta started investigated his love life and felt that he’s faking (because it was hard for them to digest the fact that alpha is going out with someone, he wasn’t good enough in looks, appearance and style or perhaps they were gays and didn’t want him to go out with someone except them).Gamma was still neutral (I doubt whether he was a dumbass).  Alpha was still not annoyed because he didn’t want to spill salt on their wounds ( he could have gone the AB way, “Mere pass ladki hai, IIM ki degree hai, naukri ki 100% guarantee hai, maa bhi hai, tumhaare pass kya hai??” and bring it to an end). But finally, it was ended the next day during the class reunion.

 

Still jealous of Alpha’s success in every field, they called him an impotent in front of their crushes and made him furious. He lost his temper (who can stand this) and revealed their secrets, about their crush, their jealousy and the biggest of them all; they are just barking dogs that could seldom bite (I wish I could have written all the words that Alpha spoke). Shocked and surprised (because he spoke for the first time and left them speechless), they were left lamenting because they lost a friend but he was happy because he finally managed to tell them, who they are and where they really belong to. The present day situation is::

1.       Alpha is working at a top post in a MNC earning about 50 lacs annually.

2.       Gamma and Delta are working in the same MNC but at a lower post and earning about 10 lacs annually.

3.       Ironically, Beta is also working in the same MNC but at a very lower level (just above a peon) and earning a meager salary and Alpha treats him as his peon because according to him, he deserved this (unlike truth, revenge is sweet).
